A canvas print turns a favourite photo, artwork or logo into something you’ll actually hang on the wall. The hardest part is choosing the size. This guide shows every canvas size we print in Midrand, what each one suits, and how big your photo needs to be so it prints sharp.

Which size suits which space?
- A5, A4 and 20–30 cm squares: desks, shelves, bedside tables and gifts. Great in a group of three.
- A3 and 40 cm squares: a small wall, a hallway or above a desk.
- A2 and 50 cm squares: the most popular living room and office size.
- A1, A0 and 60 cm squares: statement pieces above a couch, a bed or a reception desk.
A simple rule: above furniture, choose a canvas about two-thirds the width of the furniture. Not sure? Stick a sheet of newspaper on the wall at the size you’re considering and live with it for a day.
Portrait, landscape or square?
A-size canvases can hang portrait (tall) or landscape (wide). Choose the one that matches your photo, so we don’t need to crop important parts out. Square canvases suit Instagram-style photos, logos and close-up portraits.
How big does my photo need to be?
Canvas is forgiving because it’s viewed from a distance, but bigger prints need bigger files. As a guide, for a sharp result:

Most modern phone photos are 4,000 pixels or more, so they work up to A2 and often larger. Always send the original photo, not a screenshot or a WhatsApp-compressed copy: on WhatsApp, send it as a document to keep full quality. If a file is too small for the size you want, we’ll tell you before printing.
Print only or stretched on a frame?
Print only is the printed canvas on its own, if you plan to frame it yourself or post it. Stretched canvases are pulled tight over a wooden frame and arrive ready to hang, with nothing else to buy.
