Business card size in South Africa
The standard South African business card is 90 × 50 mm (9 × 5 cm, or 3.54 × 1.97 inches). Set your file up at 96 × 56 mm to include a 3 mm bleed on each side, and keep text at least 3 mm inside the trim line.

Designing in Canva? Choose a custom size of 96 × 56 mm and download as PDF Print. The US size (3.5 × 2 in) is slightly smaller, so a US template will need resizing.

Send a print-ready PDF, AI or EPS at 300 dpi, or let our in-house designers create your card for you (a design fee applies). We send a digital proof for your approval before printing.
Business card questions
Single or double sided?
Single sided is great for a clean, simple card. Double sided gives you space for your logo on one side and contact details, services or a QR code on the other.
Gloss or matte?
Gloss makes colours and photos pop. Matte feels more premium and is easier to write on.
